Smaller-scale wireless LAN
deployments-for small businesses, branch offices or other
remote locations-need the same security, mobility and
scalability of large enterprise deployments, at a cost
that meets the budgetary requirements of smaller
installations.
To suit those needs, ReefEdge developed the Connect Server
50 (CS50), a single appliance that provides the
functionality of both a Connect Server and an Edge
Controller in one box. The CS50 allows 4-6 access points
to connect directly to a Connect Server, with no Edge
Controllers (which sit between the Connect Server and
access points in larger deployments) necessary.
The CS50 performs the centralized management,
configuration and authentication functions of a Connect
Server, and the perimeter security, subnet roaming and
session persistence functions of an Edge Controller for a
wireless LAN deployment of up to six access points.
The CS50 is designed for easy installation and
configuration, with an intuitive, web-based interface and
state-of-the-art management, performance monitoring and
logging tools. The CS50 supports all radio technologies,
vendor technologies, and mobile devices.
